Italian e-commerce sales to reach EUR 20 billion this year

Italian e-commerce purchases are set to increase by 18 percent this year to reach the milestone of EUR 20 billion, according to the latest B2C e-commerce update from the Italian Consortium of Electronic Commerce and the School of Management at the Milan Polytechnic. The report found that the e-commerce sector now accounts for 5.0 percent of all retail sales, up from 4.0 percent last year and 3.5 percent in 2014, but still lagging behind the UK, France and Germany where e-commerce penetration is two to four times higher.
