Italian government backs down on special powers to vet 5G suppliers

The Italian government has backed down on plans to give itself special powers to intervene on 5G network security. A proposed emergency decree giving the government the 'golden power' to vet network suppliers was dropped in favour of taking the time to develop a law through parliament, Reuters reports.
