Italian regulator, Rai sign frequency planning agreement

Italy's Communications Authority (AgCom), the Ministry of Economic Development, and public broadcaster RAI have signed a procedural agreement, for the completion of the regional network of RAI. According to an AgCom statement, the re-planning of frequencies will enable RAI to consolidate the performance of the signal distribution network, reducing interference that, starting from the analogue switch off, has created problems of poor reception on the ground. The agreement also aims to optimize the use of frequencies and promote innovative and efficient digital networks from RAI.
