Friday 10 May 2019 | 14:56 CET | News
Italy's ministry for economic development (MiSE) has revealed that the number of registered startups in the country surpassed the 10,000 milestone in the first quarter of 2019, reaching a total of 10,075 at the end of March. The ministry said startups now represent around 3 percent of all newly-established companies and employ some 55,000 workers. Average annual turnover stands at EUR 150,000, although 178 have now topped the EUR 1 million mark, said MISE, adding that 43 percent of the startups have at least one employee under the age of 35.
