Italian state TV licence may be added to electricity bill

Italian prime minister Matteo Renzi has vowed to take drastic steps to ensure everyone pays the country's widely-evaded TV licence, even suggesting the fee be included on household electricity bills. In an interview on Italian TV, Renzi said the government is considering lowering the amount payable while taking up the previously suggested idea of adding the payment to electricity bills. "In the budget law we'll reduce the licence fee and, at the same time, we'll say that everyone has to pay it via a mechanism," said Renzi, according to ANSA.  "Today it costs EUR 113.
