Italian TV lost EUR 1 bln between 2008-2013 - Confindustria

The Italian TV industry lost some EUR 1.3 billion during the 2008-2013 period, with the two leading broadcasters, Rai and Mediaset, losing around EUR 200 million a year on average, according to trade association Confindustria Radio-TV. Speaking at the annual meeting of the association, its president Rodolfo De Laurentiis said that TV sector revenues declined an average of 27 percent over the 5-year period, while radio revenues fell 25 percent. The media sector in general, including cinema and the press, lost some EUR 3.4 billion over the period, said De Laurentiis, who laid part of the blame
