Italy signs up to EU blockchain initiative

Thursday 27 September 2018 | 11:32 CET | News
Italy's Ministry of Economic Development (MISE) announced that the country has signed up to the European Blockchain Partnership, joining around 25 other EU states. The platform is designed to help countries exchange experience and expertise in technical and regulatory fields, and prepare for the launch of EU-wide blockchain applications across the Digital Single Market. The European Commission has so far invested around EUR 80 million in Blockchain-related projects and has set aside some EUR 300 million for the development of the technology by 2020.
