Italy's Linkem to deploy Sequans Cassiopeia LTE-A platform

LTE chipmaker Sequans Communications has announced that Italian WiMax operator Linkem has adopted its LTE-A chipset platform, Cassiopeia, for use on a new CPE device. The device supports multiple TDD and FDD bands, and also features dual high gain antennas for MIMO combined with powerful RF circuit design, highly integrated software, VoIP and a router. The Cassiopeia platform supports dual carrier aggregation up to 40 MHz total bandwidth and can deliver maximum theoretical category 6 LTE throughput of up to 225 Mbps.
