Monday 30 October 2017 | 14:40 CET | News
Italian public broadcaster RAI is set to launch a dedicated English language channel for the international audience, reports local daily La Repubblica, citing the company's new service contract with the state. The channel will air news bulletins, documentaries and sporting content starting in 2018, said the report. The 5-year agreement is expected to enter into force in January 2018, with RAI also due to free up the 700 MHz band for mobile telephony use by 2022.
