ITU elects first woman to lead UN agency for technology

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has announced the election of the first woman to one of five top executive positions in the history of the organisation during its 20th Plenipotentiary Conference in Dubai. Doreen Bogdan-Martin of the United States was elected to the post of BDT Director and will be the first woman in an ITU leadership position in the Union's 153-year history.
