ITU, GSMA, ISOC band together against Ebola

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) said it joined forces with the GSMA and the Internet Society (ISOC) to fight against Ebola. ITU Secretary-General Hamadoun Toure convened a special session in Busan to identify recommendations for a more effective use of ICTs in the fight against Ebola. The three organisations will work together to increase the effectiveness of ICT, especially mobile communication and the internet, for better preparedness, early warning and response. ITU has already deployed satellite terminals to support ongoing efforts and is currently developing new
