ITU recognises ATSC 3.0 broadcast standard

The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) has adopted ATSC 3.0 as a recommended digital broadcast standard, paving the way for countries around the world to use the IP-based system. The news was welcomed by the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC), which helped develop the standard.
