ITU says mobile services in GCC most affordable in world

Mobile phone services in the GCC are among the most affordable in the world, according to the United Nations' International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The Muscat Daily said the ITU Measuring the Information Society report states that Qatar and the UAE are the fifth and sixth most affordable, with regard to monthly pre-paid mobile phone services costing less than 0.3 percent of gross national income per capita. They came in at 0.26 percent and 0.28 percent respectively.
