ITV, BBC considering GBP 1 bln jv in order to up competitivity - report

ITV and BBC are thinking of starting a joint venture as they face growing competition on the TV market with the rise of companies like Netflix, the Telegraph reported. The GBP 1 billion venture would see the BBC buy half of broadcaster UKTV, currently owned by the BBC and Discovery. According to the terms of the joint venture, the BBC would have the right to buy out its partner at a set price, before the end of next week.
