ITV submits response to BBC Charter Review consultation

ITV has submitted its response to the Department of Culture, Media and Sport's BBC Charter Review consultation, which closed on the 08 October. ITV believes that there has been a failure to deliver more distinctive services, particularly on BBC One, despite the statements of the BBC Executive and the concern of licence fee payers and the BBC Trust. ITV said this was ultimately a failure of governance and regulation with a number of causes and that it was now vital to set a clear framework for securing distinctive BBC services in future backed by effective sanctions for non-delivery.
