IWF removes Wikipedia website from watch list

Wednesday 10 December 2008 | 10:56 CET | News
The UK's Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) has decided to remove a Wikipedia webpage from the IWF watch list. The webpage was reported through the IWF online reporting mechanism on 04 December and, after being assessed, was considered to be a potentially indecent image of a child. The IWF invoked its Appeals Procedure after complaints from Wikipedia that the inclusion of the page on the IWF watch list led some UK ISPs to restrict access to Wikipedia sites.
