Jamaica poised to revoke Caricel licence

Wednesday 28 March 2018 | 15:12 CET | News
The Jamaican government is set to revoke the licence of locally-owned telecommunications firm Symbiote, trading as Caricel, reports the Jamaica Gleaner, citing the country's technology minister Andrew Wheatley. The company was awarded the country's third mobile licence back in September 2016 but Wheatley said he'd contacted Symbiote to indicate that the Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) had recommended revoking its licence due to breach of licence conditions including the matter of outstanding fees.
