Jamaica to force operators to share infrastructure

The Jamaican government has drafted a new set of rules that will require the country's telecommunications operators to share infrastructure with a view to speeding up the rollout of broadband networks. Local daily the Jamaica Gleaner reports that the Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) is working with a deadline of June for the implementation of the new rules, with the draft set to be published for public consultation following an internal review. Section 29A(4) of the country's Telecommunications Act defines infrastructure sharing as "the provision to licensees of access to tangibles used
