Jamaica to provide zero-rated access to government websites

Monday 20 March 2017 | 11:16 CET | News
The Jamaican government has partnered with local telecommunications operators Digicel and Flow to provide zero-rated access to all of the government's government websites, reports The Jamaica Gleaner, citing technology minister Andrew Wheatley. Under the terms of the deal reached with the operators, consumers can access a total of 256 websites without incurring any data charges whatsoever. The websites include critical government services offered by state agencies such as the Registrar General's Department, the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency, and Tax Administration Jamaica.
