Japan adds nearly 1.3 mln mobile subscribers in September quarter

Japan ended September with 178.47 million mobile customers, after adding 1.26 million users from 177.20 million in the quarter ended 30 June 2019. Mobile operator Softbank had 41.98 million mobile subscribers in the quarter ended 30 September, up from 41.94 million in June, according to a report from the Telecommunications Carrier Association (TCA). KDDI (au) ended September with 57.27 million subscribers in total, up from 56.36 million in June. NTT Docomo's subscriber base topped 79.20 million users at 30 September, up from 78.89 million in June.
