Japan's Gree to invest USD 12 mln in VR content startups

Japanese social gaming content and platform provider Gree has announced the launch of a USD 12 million fund to help early-stage virtual reality content companies accelerate growth. The company said the GVR Fund was evidence of its commitment to the potential of virtual reality as an emerging platform. Gree has already used the fund invest in VRChat, a platform that allows users to create, publish, and explore VR worlds with users around the world, as well as a startup called Spaces, Inc.
