K2 Telecom signs up 60,000 subscribers in first week

Monday 14 January 2013 | 10:54 CET | News
The new entrant on the Ugandan telecommunications market, K2 Telecom said it has signed up over 60,000 subscribers in its first week of operation. K2 was launched during the Buganda Kingdom's year-end celebrations, but company CEO Saul Ssegawa Katumba said reports of Buganda ownership of K2 are just speculation. With little information live on the company's website, it is not yet clear how its rates and services compare in a competitive market, the Observer reported.
