Kakao Pay hits 5 mln users in first year

South Korean mobile messaging services provider Daum Kakao reports that its mobile payment platform Kakao Pay has topped 5 million users, accounting for 20 percent of the country's total credit card users, Yonhap news agency reports. Introduced in September 2014, the Kakao Pay service allows users to pre-register their credit and debit cards, and make transactions by typing in their passwords.
