Wednesday 11 July 2018 | 17:07 CET | News

The Kaunas University of Technlogy has selected ECI’s Apollo optical transport equipment to upgrade and modernise the national fibre backbone network Litnet of the Lithuanian national research and education network (NREN). The platform features ECI’s Apollo 96XX family of high-speed optic transport products, a combination of 1G/10G/100G/200G/400G rates, Alien lambda support and flex-grid ROADMs.

Litnet connects research, study and education institutions across the country, helping to enhance scientific research collaboration. The networks involved support a broad range of applications, from high-performance computing to classroom teleconferencing.
