Kcell service revenues fall 14.5% in Q2

Friday 17 July 2015 | 12:48 CET | News
Kazakhstan mobile operator Kcell reported second-quarter sales down 10.5 percent from a year earlier to KZT 42.98 billion. Service revenue fell by a faster 14.5 percent to KZT 40.08 billion, hurt by lower termination rates, a fall in voice traffic and price pressure in the increasingly competitive market. Adjusted EBITDA was down 19.4 percent to KZT 22.18 billion, and the margin fell to 51.6 percent from 57.3. After a sharp increase in financing costs, net profit fell 31.5 percent to KZT 11.32 billion. Free cash flow was also lower, at KZT 11.22 billion versus KZT 16.21 billion a year ago.
