KDDI strikes partnership deal with TEPCO

Tokyo Electric Power (TEPCO) and Japanese operator KDDI have signed a partnership deal to sell electricity and city gas to households. KDDI will start offering TEPCO group electricity and gas plans for its "au" mobile phone subscribers. Au customers will receive discounts of up to 9 percent if they pay the au charges together with the electricity and gas bills, Jiji Press reports. Part of the discounts will be given in the form of reward points for au users that can be used to pay mobile phone fees.
