Kent County Council increases rural gigabit broadband voucher scheme

Thursday 12 September 2019 | 11:23 CET | News

Kent County Council has launched a new voucher scheme to help rural communities benefit from up to GBP 2,500 for high-speed broadband.

Up to GBP 2.8 million of additional funding is being made available to extend the Rural Gigabit Voucher Scheme in partnership with the DCMS. Homeowners applying as part of a group of two or more can secure broadband vouchers worth up to GBP 2,500 to install high-speed broadband, instead of the standard GBP 1,500.

The County Council is also investing an additional GBP 4.5 million to deploy FTTP broadband to 5,000 more rural homes and businesses through Openreach.
