Kentucky joins FirstNet network

Monday 17 July 2017 | 15:38 CET | News

Kentucky became the latest US state to accept the FirstNet and AT&T plan to deliver a wireless broadband network to the Commonwealth's public safety community. This will make Kentucky one of the first states in the country to "opt in" to FirstNet and bring advanced technologies that will help first responders save lives and protect communities.

AT&T is in charge of providing a nationwide mobile broadband network for first responders in the US after winning a contract. The FirstNet system will cover all 50 states, 5 US territories and the District of Columbia, creating 10,000 jobs during the first two years and “tens of thousands” of jobs during the entire contract period.
