Kenya local content law to take effect from July

The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) announced that the law requiring broadcasters to source at least 40 percent of their content locally will be operational in July. CA Director of Legal Services John Omo said the grace period for the implementation of the programming code comes to an end in June. Omo said the authority will from 01 July commence enforcement action against non-compliant broadcasters. He was speaking during the launch of the Content Baseline Survey and the Good Taste and Decency Survey by the CA.
