Kenya mobile cash payments up 8.8% in first 11 months of 2017

Kenya's mobile cash transactions expanded by KES 267.52 billion in the first 11 months of 2017 compared with the same period in 2016, the Daily Nation reported citing latest statistics from the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK). Mobile payments hit nearly KES 3.31 trillion in the period, up 8.8 percent year-on-year. Mobile cash transfers in November totaled KES 298.96 billion, a marginal KES 61 million or 0.02 per cent drop compared with KES 299.02 billion in October.
