Kenya MPs want to recover funds invested in Orange Kenya

The Public Investments Committee (PIC) of the Kenya Parliament has asked the Treasury to recover KES 2.5 billion invested in Orange Kenya. According to Business Daily, the Committee wants the Treasury to negotiate afresh with Orange to recover some of the shareholding lost over time in the Kenyan firm. Orange holds a 70 percent stake in Orange Kenya, while the government has the remainder, down from half when France Telecom first came on board in late 2007.
