Kenya regulator approves use of thin Sims

The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has approved the use of thin Sims in the country. The regulator said its consultative process established that the thin SIM complies with all minimum mandatory international standards, with no major complaints, particularly on interception of traffic from the primary SIM card, reported. The decision follows a complaint from mobile operator Safaricom against the planned use of thin Sims by the new MVNO Finserve from Equity Bank.
