Kenyan government will not shut internet during polls

The Kenyan government says it has no intention of disabling the internet ahead of the 08 August polls. ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru stated that there are no immediate plans to disable the internet in the country since the government needs it for a smooth election process, Capital News reported. However, the government machinery is ready to take action against any internet users inciting violence through hate speech.
