Kenyan govt to spend KES 10 bln to extend internet connectivity in counties and sub-counties

The Kenyan government has allocated KES 10 billion to all counties and sub-counties for internet connectivity. Jerome Ochieng, Principal Secretary for ICT and Innovation, said the connectivity will be an extension of the counties programme to sub-counties. He said that within three to five years, owing to the size of some counties, the programme will be complete. Ochieng said the targeted areas include hospitals, schools and police stations.
