Kenyan mobile money registrations grow 11% in first 11 months

The number of registered mobile money accounts in Kenya increased by 6.6 million between January and November 2020, according to data from the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) published by Business Daily. The number of accounts jumped by 11 percent to 65.8 million. In March, CBK Governor Patrick Njoroge announced a waiver of money transfer charges for amounts up to KES UGX 1,000 in a bid to curb the spread of Covid-19.
