Kenyan mobile phone subscriptions rise to 36.1 mln in Q4

Friday 18 September 2015 | 10:51 CET | News
The number of mobile phone subscribers in Kenya increased in the fourth quarter ended 30 June to 36.1 million, up from 34.8 million in the previous quarter, according to the latest statistics from the Communications Authority. This is up by 3.9 million compared with the same period of the previous year, when there were 32.2 million. This can be attributed to the increased demand for mobile data services, m-commerce, m-banking services and other emerging mobile services.
