Kenyan MPs seek to delink mobile money services from telecom licences

Monday 1 April 2019 | 10:27 CET | News
Kenyan Members of Parliament are pushing to delink mobile money services from telecommunication firms, and for their registration as separate commercial banks, reports Business Daily. If MPs have their way, the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) would be compelled to ensure that mobile money services like Safaricom's M-Pesa, Airtel Money and Telkom's T-Kash, are licensed as banks.
