Kenyan regulator goes on alert after global cyber attack

The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) says it is on high alert after a cyber attack hit major companies across the globe from 27 June. It said to be targeting computers using the Microsoft operating system, holding users files and data to ransom for money. The Kenyan industry regulator said the ransomware virus goes by the name Petya and the watchdog discourages users affected from pay money to access their files.
