Kenyan telcos face hefty fines for worse quality of calls

The quality of voice services offered by mobile operators Safaricom, Airtel and Telkom Kenya worsened in 2016, setting up the operators for hefty fine, reports Business Daily. The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) says the three mobile phone firms failed to meet the quality standards for the year to June. The overall performance of the three network operators was 50 percent, which was lower than the 62.5 percent recorded the year before, CA said.
