Kenyans mobile money agent deals decline nearly 7% in April

Friday 11 June 2021 | 09:52 CET | News
The value of money handled by mobile money agents in Kenya dropped for the fourth month in a row in April amid lower spending caused by ongoing economic uncertainty, Business Daily reported. The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) said that agent transactions dropped by 6.6 percent or KES 35.5 billion to KES 502.22 billion in April from KES 537.75 billion in March. The value has fallen every month from January to April, from the record of KES 605.69 billion in December 2020.
