Kontron, Applied Micro unveil design for Symkloud platforms

Kontron and Applied Micro Circuits unveiled a new collaborative hardware design to the Kontron Symkloud Series of converged infrastructure platforms. The Symkloud platform portfolio now includes a 10GbE modular server designed with two AppliedMicro X-Gene system-on-chip (SoC) processors based on the 64-bit ARMv8-A architecture. The ARM-based Symkloud platform will be on display at the Kontron and the ARM booths during the Mobile World Congress. In related news, Kontron, Applied Micro Circuits, Enea, and Qosmos unveiled the integration of a security network functions virtualisation (NFV)
