Korea to build test bed for autonomous cars, invest KRW 11 bln

A test bed area for autonomous cars will be built west of Seoul by end-2018. The area will be used to test vehicles in real-world road and traffic conditions, Yonhap news agency reports, citing a statement from the country's Transport Ministry. Dubbed 'K-City', the facility will cover 320,000 square meters, and will be located in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province. According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the project will see overall investments of KRW 11 billion (approximately USD 9.77 million).
