Korea to limit pre-installed smartphone apps

The Korean ministry of science, ICT and future planning has announced guidelines for preloading apps on smartphones, the Korea Joongang Daily reported. Smartphone users will be able to delete applications preloaded on smartphones by mobile carriers or smartphone makers from April. The ministry said it wants consumers to have the freedom to delete unwanted apps in order to make space for those they do want. The guideline has classified apps that are necessary to operate the smartphones or implement technology and unique features of smartphone hardware as essential apps or selected apps so that
