Korea to pilot NFC for credit card-based authentication

South Korea will launch a pilot service using the short-range wireless technology used in credit cards for personal authentication and mobile payments. The pilot will be managed by the Korea Communications Commission (KCC) and is scheduled for launch later this month, Yonhap news agency reports. The new service enables internet users to verify their personal information using NFC-tagged credit cards.
