KT confirms former Samsung CTO as new CEO

Shareholders of Korea Telecom (KT) have confirmed Chang-Gyu Hwang as the company's new CEO. A former CTO at Samsung Electronics, Hwang also headed the R&D Planning Office of Korea's Knowledge & Economy Ministry and was a distinguished chair professor at Sungkyunkwan university. In a statement, Hwang said he felt a "heavy responsibility" to be KT's CEO in these "difficult times" and said he would use his global experience to make the company Korea's leading telecom provider. KT also announced board approval of a dividend of KRW 800 per share for 2013. The dividend is subject to shareholder
