KT deploys 5G MUX infrastructure, 25G optic modules based on LWDM

South Korean mobile operator KT has announced it has implemented a differentiated infrastructure to develop its 5G network, Yonhap news agency reports. The 5G multiplexer (5G MUX) is designed to allow transmission and reception on a single line by using optical circuits. The 5G network can be constructed on a plug-in basis without having to change the existing wireless network, the company said. This means the service is available in all locations that have optic cables, for fast installation. KT also reports that it has developed 25G optic modules based on its LAN-Wavelength Division
