KT launches HTML5-based IPTV service

South Korean communications provider KT has launched its HTML5-based IPTV service commercially, ZDNet Korea reports. KT Media Hub, a subsidiary of KT, unveiled the "Olleh TV Smart", which runs software through the web, not through apps, so it is an open platform. Olleh TV was first launched in 2008 and the company released a set-top box with full browsing features in January.
