KT opens Submarine Network Operation Center in Busan

South Korean operator KT has opened an undersea network control tower in Busan. The Submarine Network Operation Center (SNOC) will be used as a key facility to control bulk data transfers in UHD broadcasting, data roaming and the 5G network systems, The Korea Times reports, citing Oh Seong-mok, EVP of KT's network division. "The SNOC will help us provide turnkey operations for undersea cable networks, from establishing network infrastructure to risk management", the executive said.
