KT, SK Telecom, LG Uplus mull acquisition of cable TV operator Hyundai HCN - report

South Korea's three major operators KT, SK Telecom and LG Uplus have submitted non-binding indicative offers to acquire Hyundai HCN, the country's fifth-largest cable TV operator owned by Hyundai Department Store Group, The Investor reports, citing unnamed industry sources. Hyundai HCN currently has a 4 percent market share with 1.3 million subscribers. The cable TV unit posted revenues of KRW 292 billion (approximately USD 237 million), and operating profit of KRW 41 billion.
