KT to build smart metering system in Uzbekistan

South Korean operator KT has concluded the Advanced Electricity Metering development project with Uzbekenergo, Uzbekistan's power authority. The overall value of the project is USD 101 million. The project, which is supported by the Asian Development Bank, covers the installation of smart meters, capable of remote metering, a Meter Data Management System, Customer Relationship Management, and billing system. The company plans to install the systems across one million households in Samarkand, Jejak, and Buhkara in Uzbekistan, in the next two years and four months. Through this project with KT,
